USA Placed Victims-Survivors of The Canadian Scoops is a burgeoning grass roots effort the ambition of which is to encourage The Truth & Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC-Canada) to expand it’s mandate to include those victims-survivors of The Canadian Scoops who were placed in the USA; currently, The Mandate of the TRC-Canada only includes those victims-survivors of The Canadian Scoops who were kept within Canada.

To date only 1 USA Placed Victim-Survivor of the Canadian Scoops has been recognized by TRC-Canada. Our research indicates the possibility that there are thousands more in USA (& Europe).

This blog highlights processes by which other USA Placed Victims-Survivors of The Canadian Scoops can determine & qualify their own North American Indian Status, Blood Quantum, and/or USA Citizenship as well as attempt to gain recognition by TRC-Canada.

Until TRC-Canada acknowledges all USA Placed Victims-Survivors of The Canadian Scoops, the processes listed above are not obvious and not without risk of deportation.

New Free App Can Reunite Families Separated By Forced Migration, Genocide

February 27, 2013 § 7 Comments

A new free app http://info.refunite.org/ offered by organization ‘Uniting Refugees’ will enable USA Placed Victims-Survivors of The Canadian Scoops and those placed elsewhere to identify and reach out to one another.

More: (excerpt from Skoll World Forum, Forbes),

“Five years ago, all we had was an idea: we wanted to create the world’s first mobile family-tracing platform for refugees displaced by war, disaster and political repression. We wanted to convey a message to poor and illiterate families in despair: searching for family? We’ve got your back.

We also wanted the platform to be accessible from low-cost mobile devices so that refugees anywhere in the world would be able to search for long lost family. On top of that, we wanted to offer this platform to organizations in refugee camps and urban areas for them to collect data on separated families – as opposed to keeping track of separated families via pen and paper.

With more than 43 million forcibly displaced people in the world and humanitarian crises unfolding in numerous hotspots, we felt a sense of urgency and set a goal: by the end of 2015, we would help one million refugees search for missing family through our platform.

Since then, Refugees United has grown into a global organization supported by Bill Clinton, the Omidyar Network, Ericsson, IKEA Foundation, SAP, Ketchum PR, FedEx, MTN, Vodafone, Safaricom and others.”

TRC-Canada, total budget-$60M; Reparations for USA Placed Victims-Survivors of The Canadian Scoops, $0

February 18, 2013 § Leave a comment

Viewing the budgets of (23) truth and reconciliation commissions and $-reparations to victims-survivors of the same, from the perspective of the victims, the ROI (or RODonation) is NOT adequate; victims-survivors of genocides receive greater $-reparations once they pursue ‘justice’ in the courts.

According to the mandate of TRC-Canada only those victims-survivors of the Canadian Scoops who were kept within Canada are entitled to receive compensation-reparations, thereby forcing these individuals to pursue their claims in the courts; if, to pursue claim in civil court it is necessary to prove that all remedies were exhausted within TRC-Canada, TRC Canada needs to provide a standard appeal process that accommodates these victims-survivors of the Canadian Scoops who were not kept within Canada but rather placed in the USA.

No Consensus Amongst USA Placed Victims-Survivors of The Canadian Scoops, No Compensation

February 14, 2013 § Leave a comment

February 13, 2013.  Thousands of files identify USA Placed Victims-Survivors of The Canadian Scoops, however, because those individuals do not agree on types, minimums and management of potential compensation it is likely that the resulting lack of coordination and cooperation amongst these individuals will result in $0 compensation for these victims-survivors.

Discussions regarding compensation-goals range from ‘spiritual counseling only’ to USD$1million per year starting from date of being ‘scooped’, a.k.a., abducted, until date that they were/are officially recognized as USA Placed Victims-Survivors of The Canadian Scoops by TRC-Canada and/or until they were/are informed by Government of Canada-TRC-Canada of the actual circumstances by which they were illegally taken from their biological families and placed in USA Adoption and Foster Care System.

TRC-Canada should expand its mandate to include those victims-survivors of the Canadian Scoops who were placed in the USA and provide funding for services in the USA that will enable expeditious identification, outreach and recognition of all USA Placed Victims-Survivors of The Canadian Scoops.
