June 6, 2013, Though reference to ‘Canadian Scoops’, ’60’s Scoops’, ‘The Scoops’, etc., is regularly limited to those North American Indian and Canadian Indian children who were taken from their biological families in Canada and placed in Canadian Residential Schools AND USA adoption and foster care system, BECAUSE there is also the possibility that some of those children who were scooped from Canada and placed in the USA were also placed in USA residential schools, I am posting the following research request, i.e.,
Woodson “Woody” Dresden is doing research for documentary on USA residential school system.
If you have any information on the USA residential school system please contact him directly. If you are aware of any USA Placed Victims-Survivors of Canadian Scoops who were not placed in USA adoption & foster care system but rather they were placed in USA residential school system, please contact me via this blog asap.

Woodson “Woody” Dresden • I am looking for information/stories about the Boarding Schools that were established in the United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries to educate Native American children and youths according to Euro-American standards. In my paper I am going to illustrate the horrors these students experienced when they were forcible taken for their families, not allowed to speak their own language, abandon their culture and beliefs, and were required to dress like whites.
