Next Steps – Building Class Action

February 3, 2014, While infighting over ‘ownership’ of data that describes the potential size and locations of USA Placed Victim-Survivors of Canadian Scoops continues, this blog in coordination with a Washington, DC based public affairs and business development firm, are developing a useful on-line resource for those who believe they are USA Placed Victims-Survivors of Canadian Scoops and who want to explore further compensation and restitution beyond that which TRC-Canada did/didn’t offer. We will announce the availability of that on-line resource on this blog sometime during month of February 2014.
The online resource will provide individuals with ability to sign up for free initial consultations by which we can determine if they are USA Placed Victims-Survivors of Canadian Scoops, and what additional documentation they will need to provide so that they can be introduced-coordinated with appropriate USA law firms. Currently we have identified 1 law firm in NYC area and 1 in Chicago area both of which are capable and interested in reviewing potential class action candidates. Throughout this blog we often refer to the documentation that was necessary to achieve TRC-Canada and USCIS recognition of 1st USA Placed Victim-Survivor of Canadian Scoops to be recognized by both TRC-Canada and USCIS; we haven’t fully disclosed how we were able to collect the necessary documents because revealing those channels will encourage the same channels to close down, i.e., the on-line resource that we will provide will only be able to tell you what documentation will be required and not how to obtain it.
Note also that while the USA is filled with over 1 million attorneys who are members of bar associations, very few are genuinely qualified to represent an issue that involves the legal issues that describe this situation and fewer within that group are capable of handling a class action, i.e., identifying attorneys who are not only capable but also willing to take on a class action on behalf of USA Placed Victims-Survivors of Canadian Scoops and on contingency to is difficult. We have met with nearly a dozen attorneys before identifying 2-3 who are capable and willing to review the potential of class action on behalf of this population. (While we have identified 1 in NYC, 1 in Chicago, a 3rd identified is not sure which regional office might take this on).
