February 12, 2014, So many times, when discussing USA Placed Victims-Survivors of Canadian Scoops and TRC-Canada in general, we thank Darlene Auger, former Regional Liaison of Truth & Reconciliation Commission-Canada. We thank her for her thoughtful efforts that both enabled victims-survivors of Canada Scoops who were kept within Canada, as well as those who were placed in USA and west Europe, to achieve the recognition of TRC-Canada AND restored the same victims-survivors sense of decency, i.e., Darlene gave them back the peace of mind that had been taken from them when they or their children were abducted, a.k.a., scooped.
Earlier this week I posted that Louis Desjarlais had passed away. Louis was the biological father of the 1st USA Placed Victim-Survivor of Canadian Scoops. For decades Louis’ efforts to find his son were ignored; when inquiring as to his son’s whereabouts he was treated as a pest by his local government officials the predecessors of which had been complicit and, in fact, accompanied the abductors. If it had not been for Darlene Auger and her devotion to, if not the administrative rules of the TRC-Canada, then the principles that form the purpose and foundation of TRC-Canada, Louis never would have received the respect and peace of mind he so completely was entitled to.
So, again, Darlene, Thank you!
