February 24, 2014, During March 27 – 31, 2014, TRC-Canada National Event in Edmonton, Alberta will take place.
Throughout the event, victims-survivors will present their statements and ‘healing workshops’ will take place.
Attorneys representing Canada Scoop victims who are participating in class action suits as well as those who are representing victims who chose to file individual suits will also be attending.
We do not know if The 1st USA Placed Victim-Survivor of Canadian Scoops will be attending; it would be the first time that he was seen his biological family since having been abducted, a.k.a., scooped. His father who searched for him for decades, unfortunately, passed away October 2013, i.e., a few months before he would have been reunited with his son. No TRC-Canada National Events are scheduled to take place in USA or west Europe.
Also during The National Event, Darlene Auger, former Regional Liaison of Truth & Reconciliation Commission-Canada, and professional ‘healer’ will co-host a healing workshop, the title of which is “A Musta BE: Maskihkiy Maskwa Iskwew.” The workshop will feature reading of a play written by Old Earth Productions and Jane Heather. The intention of the workshop is to express the common pain all victims of Canada Scoops share, whether they were placed in USA and/or west Europe, or kept within Canada. The hope is that by highlighting the similarity of that pain, the victims will understand that they are part of a community, and that from that sense of community a fortifying camaraderie will develop.
Darlene is a certified healer who maintains a private practice that specializes in North American Indian rituals.
Following the reading she will be available for one on one discussions. She encourages each and every one of you to reach out to her personally.
Details on where and when, and how to sign up for Darlene’s workshop will be provided next week.
