November 8, 2014, On August 3, 1990 President of the United States George H. W. Bush declared the month of November as National American Indian Heritage Month, thereafter commonly referred to as Native American Heritage Month.

Dana Gluckstein is well appreciated within human rights and civil rights circles for her talent and focus on discrimination and assaults of Native American Women.  Gluckstein is currently working in association with Amnesty International USA on the DIGNITY campaign to end discrimination and sexual assaults of Native American Women, more details via Daily Beast link below.
