July 23, 2015, Article (link below) is Relevant to the ‘principle of continuous residence’ in regard to individuals trying to claim North American Indian status and protections within USA some have been successful with this formula: refer to Jay Treaty and Treaty of Ghent and then show that the tribe/band and/or parts of the tribe/band you are member of was historically located in present day USA before the current land boundaries between  USA and Canada were drawn.
