December 16, 2015, The final report of TRC-Canada presented to PM Trudeau yesterday (link below) failed to mention TRC-Canada recognition of victims of Canada Scoops who were not kept within Canada but who were instead placed in USA and west Europe, a.k.a., USA Placed Victims-Survivors of Canada Scoops. There are at least – and this is an enormously conservative estimate – 2-3 thousand USA (and west Europe) placed Victims-Survivors of Canada Scoops.
Canada Scoops, a.k.a.: Sixties Scoops, 60’s Scoops, Baby Scoop Era.
The symbolic highlight of Yesterday’s event, leaving (2) empty chairs in the front row to symbolize those missing and murdered, should have left a 3rd empty chair to acknowledge these children placed in USA and a 4th empty chair for those children scooped and placed in west Europe.
The reply to inquiries about this ‘oversight’ is that the mandate of TRC-Canada was specifically – not for all victims of Canada Scoops but rather it was only for those children who were, after being scooped, kept within Canada AND placed in the residential boarding school system; however, while that is certainly the final mandate of the recently concluded TRC-Canada, the original mandate of the same TRC-Canada did not exclude victims of Canada Scoops who were trafficked out of Canada and placed in USA and west Europe adoption and foster care, i.e., that’s how Taber Gregory/Taber Meier, a.k.a., Henry Desjarlais achieved his TRC-Canada victim status, that status subsequently reaffirmed by USCIS. Soon after TRC-Canada was informed of this USCIS use of TRC-Canada recognition by a victim, the mandate of TRC-Canada was edited to exclude victims of Canada Scoops who were not kept in Canada after being scooped.
